Love Ye Core. Pass on the Core.

Every gift to the Love Ye Core campaign is more than a donation. It is an opportunity to pass on the books, ideas and traditions at the heart of a UD education. Every gift of $170 or more directly funds a Core Curriculum book and gives you the opportunity to leave a personal inscription honoring a book, professor or friendship that mattered to you, or encouraging a future reader.

Help us reach 40 Core Curriculum books by Sept. 4. This milestone represents all the books students encounter during their first year and Rome semester. When we reach 40, a generous donor will add $10,000 to the campaign.

Unlock Faculty Excellence

For every $50,000 raised, an additional $20,750 is unlocked to fuel faculty excellence across disciplines — supporting outstanding teaching, research and scholarship through the Faculty Excellence in Research Award. Three awards are currently in planning.

Here are just a few examples of the excellence your gifts could help make possible.

Excellence in Research & Mentorship

Each summer, Drs. Jacob Moldenhauer and Will Flanagan lead UDallas students to the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), one of the world’s most advanced research facilities. As the only undergraduates in the n_TOF collaboration, our students impress international scientists with discoveries that could advance cancer treatment.

Excellence in Interdisciplinary Thinking

Drs. Brett Bourbon and Renita Murimi bring literature and cybersecurity together in a groundbreaking book exploring truth and misinformation in the digital age. Their interdisciplinary work reflects UDallas’ commitment to intellectual rigor and relevance.

Excellence in Catholic Scholarship

Dr. Irene Alexander’s award-winning research enriches Catholic teaching on some of today's most pressing moral issues, such as embryo adoption and organ transplantation, and enlightens the Church teaching on human sexuality and theology of the body.

Love Ye Core Messages

Every gift to the Love Ye Core campaign is more than just a donation—it is an opportunity to pass on the books, ideas and experiences that shape a UD education. Below are just a few of the meaningful messages donors have shared with their gifts, reflecting the lasting impact of the Core and offering encouragement to future readers.

“Dr. Moran, thank you for the gracious welcome you extended to our family when we brought our daughters to Rome. Be able to attend Mass inside the Vatican with UD profs and RC's, to see the Due Santi campus, and to fortuitously bump into you in the city are precious memories for us. You always had a ready smile and warm invitation. Your goodness enabled us, "the rents", to trust in the care of UD for our daughters. We thank the good Lord for you!”

The Littells

“Dr. Dougherty! Sending prayers for a fruitful academic year. I am grateful for the formation I received from you and the other Politics profs at UD. I first learned the City of God from you, and now I get to teach it to others for a living!”

Theresa (Smart) MacArt

“Dear Dr. Kenney, thank you so much for sharing your love and enthusiasm for literature with me and countless other students! May God bless you and your new students over the coming school year.”

Catherine Anne Rogers

“My favorite professor was the late Bruce Evans. I took his capstone class in spring, 2000. It was a great experience that helped me grown in my career. "Professor Bruce" as he liked to be called, guided his students towards real and measurable changes with the particular business which was our class assignment. UD is a great Catholic university and teachers like him separate the university from most others.”

Joseph Michael Gavigan

“Dr. Roper, count on many prayers for this new school year. We are so proud of the institution you all are building in this current chapter of UD history and feel very blessed to enjoy the overflow of the community as local alumni. Keep up the great work!”

Ben & Chelsea Gibson

Thank You
